B&FC Students’ Union were thrilled to be able to welcome back Nathan Parker from Parker Book to deliver his six-week creative writing workshop at College. Over six weeks participants learnt more about creative writing and spoken word, helping them gain confidence in their talents.
To conclude the six weeks of work the Students’ Union hosted their first ever ‘Creative Pioneers Night’ where the students who attended the workshops were able to participate in an open mic night.
As part of this event we also arranged several performance from the amazingly talented students from Blackpool School of Arts. These included the HE Musical Theatre pantomime ‘Jack and the Beanstalk Tower’, a BSL performance from the FE Performing Arts students of ‘This is Me’ from the Greatest Showman, and the opening number of ‘Carrie the Musical’ which will be performed this April at the University Centre by our HE Musical Theatre students.
This was then followed by the open mic event, hosted by Nathan Parker, with guest appearance from Rob Mason. As with last year, we want to celebrate the students who participated in the open mic night by publishing their poems that they read during the event. Click the buttons below to see what they wrote:
