We are made up of students that you elect each year, who listen to the student voice and respond to your needs on a range of issues. This includes equality and diversity; quality and standards; social activities and anything else which impacts on your wider experience. As soon as you enrol as a B&FC student you automatically become a member of the Students’ Union, so welcome to the community.
We want you to have the best time whilst studying here at B&FC, so we listen to you so we can seek to further enhance what will already be an amazing experience studying here.
Whilst you may be studying at any of the B&FC campuses, here on a short or long-term course, on campus or being a long distance learner, be rest assured we are here for all students! So use your voice and get involved in your Union

Hi! I'm Philippa your student union sabbatical officer. My role is everything student union! I'm here to make sure all students from our various campuses feel seen, heard, and valued in your time with us at B&FC. I've been a student here studying Art at the University centre, Blackpool has been an amazing place to study and I hope to make everyone's experience 1000 times better!
I'll be organising student rep meetings to hear back from all our classes, planning events from the big days like freshers to the small ones like national bestfriend day, and so much inbetween. I'm always open to talk on teams or email so any suggestions or troubles let me know.

My name is Naomi Burvill. I am the President of HE and I am a music student doing my HNC. I am a very passionate person who loves to help people. I had been told my whole life that I would never be able to achieve my goals or make it in many aspects in life, but I never let that get me down. I carried on in life and now I am where I want to be in life. If you see me around please say hello, as I am always ready to chat with my fellow peers and make friends.

I am currently training to become a deck officer while studying at Fleetwood Nautical College. Over the past year, I have worked on cruise ships, combining my career at sea with my passion for travel. I have visited 40 out of 193 countries so far, with many more planned as I return onboard. Prior to cruise ships, I worked on superyachts, and I plan to return to the superyacht industry after graduating. And no, it’s definitely not like Below Deck… though that would certainly make things more dramatic! My experiences at sea have strengthened my adaptability, communication, and leadership skills.

As Vice President of Environment and Sustainability, I would work to promote environmentally friendly initiatives, encourage students to get involved in sustainability projects, and ensure student voices help shape the college’s environmental future. I am committed to raising awareness of climate issues, reducing waste, supporting biodiversity, and making sustainability an everyday part of college life.
