Jamie Crawford – Students’ Union Sabbatical Officer

Hello everybody! My name is Jamie Crawford, and I will be the Sabbatical Officer for the SU for the upcoming academic year 2021/2022.

I would like to begin by thanking you all for this incredible opportunity and I cannot wait to meet everyone, and I hope we can all have a very successful year and move forward positively after a treacherous 12+ months. As you may be aware the role of sabbatical officer is a role voted in by the students and eligible to any students who have recently graduated within the last 3 years – so I have been where you are, whether it’s your first year, third year or even fourth.

I attended B&FC in 2016-2019 and completed my degree, achieving a 2:1 in Scriptwriting for Stage, Screen and Gaming. During my time at the college, I served as a class rep, and for my final year I was HE President. During the pandemic, I returned to B&FC to study for my Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) which I complete in June 2021 (Phew!).

I love film & TV (especially horror) and I could waffle on for hours – talking absolute nonsense, because of this I used my passion during the pandemic to connect with friends and created a range of podcasts so I could share my passions with the world and be close to my friends in a time when we could not.

I am thrilled to be your Sabbatical Officer for the upcoming academic year, and I hope we can all have a wonderful year together. I want to create a cohesive, collaborative environment for all students where we can all learn together and become ‘One College’. There will be a full range of enrichment activities, and events throughout the academic year, and we welcome any ideas YOU may have, so if there is anything you need, please, do not hesitate to contact me or the Students’ Union, all the information can be found here:
