Restaurant Week Success: Catering Students Shine at Abingdon Street Market 🍽️

On Friday 13 and Saturday 14 March, our talented catering students took part in Restaurant Week, hosting a fantastic pop-up food event at Abingdon Street Market and what a success it was!

Over the two days, students stepped out of the classroom and into a real working environment, preparing, cooking, and serving a range of delicious dishes to the public.

A real taste of industry experience

The pop-up event gave students the opportunity to:

  • Work in a fast-paced, real-world setting

  • Develop their cooking and customer service skills

  • Build confidence working with members of the public

  • Experience what it’s like to run a food service from start to finish

From preparation to service, students were fully involved every step of the way.

This kind of experience is essential in preparing students for future careers within the hospitality and catering industry.

A menu that delivered

Customers visiting the stall enjoyed a selection of high-quality dishes, including popular options such as macaroni and cheese.

The standard of both food and service was excellent, with positive feedback received throughout the event.

A busy and successful event

The pop-up proved particularly popular on Saturday, with a consistently high level of footfall and strong demand across the day. Students responded professionally to the busy environment, demonstrating organisation, teamwork, and resilience under pressure.

The event was a clear success and a great showcase of student talent.

Congratulations to our students

We would like to congratulate all of the students and staff involved in delivering the event. Their hard work, commitment, and professionalism ensured a positive experience for customers and a valuable learning opportunity for everyone involved.

We’re incredibly proud of what was achieved and we’re already looking forward to the next event!
