Freshers’ Fair 2026: A Fantastic Start to the Year at Bispham Campus 🎉
On 10th September, students gathered at Bispham Campus for this year’s FE Freshers’ Fair, and what an incredible event it was!
The fair brought together students from across the college for an afternoon packed with activities, entertainment, and opportunities to discover the wide range of support services, clubs, societies, and local organisations available to them throughout the year.
Something for everyone
There was plenty to keep students entertained throughout the event, making Freshers’ Fair a fantastic way to start the academic year.
Students enjoyed having a go at inflatable darts, testing their aim and competing with friends to see who could score the highest points. The zorb football proved to be a popular attraction of the day, with students climbing into giant inflatable zorbs and taking part in fun-filled matches that had spectators laughing and cheering from the sidelines.
The gaming station attracted a steady stream of students throughout the event, providing a space to relax, socialise, and enjoy some friendly competition. Meanwhile, the carnival games offered opportunities to win and get involved in the lively atmosphere.
To help students cool down and make the most of the day, an ice cream van was on hand throughout the afternoon, serving a variety of delicious treats that proved extremely popular dispite the wether.
Alongside the activities, students were able to explore a wide range of stalls hosted by external vendors, community organisations, and college services. These stalls provided valuable information about student discounts, health and wellbeing support, volunteering opportunities, local services, and ways to get involved both on and off campus.
The mix of entertainment, information, and opportunities ensured there was something for everyone, helping students feel welcomed, connected, and excited about the year ahead.
Connecting students with opportunities
One of the key aims of Freshers’ Fair is to help students learn about the opportunities available to them both on and off campus.
Students had the chance to speak with a range of organisations, ask questions, collect information, and find out more about services that can support their wellbeing, personal development, and future ambitions.
The event also provided an excellent opportunity for students to connect with the Students’ Union and learn how they can get involved throughout the year.
A busy and successful event
The fair saw a fantastic turnout, with students engaging enthusiastically with activities, vendors, and fellow students throughout the afternoon.
The positive atmosphere and high level of participation made the event a great success, creating a memorable experience for both new and returning students. Throughout the event, students could be seen trying new activities, speaking with organisations, collecting freebies, and making connections with their peers.
The combination of fun attractions, useful information, and community engagement created a vibrant atmosphere that reflected the spirit of college life and helped students feel part of the college community from the very beginning of the academic year.
