What is World Book Day?

World Book Day changes lives through a love of books and shared reading. Our mission is to promote reading for pleasure, offering every child and young person the opportunity to have a book of their own.

Spending just 10 minutes a day reading and sharing stories with children can make a crucial difference to their future success and it’s fun for all involved. That’s why World Book Day continues to encourage children and young people to read for pleasure through its work with authors, illustrators, publishers, bookshops and libraries.

What are Students' Union doing?

This month, we are asking you to donate any old books to the LRC. The Students' Union will visit all campuses at the end of the month running book swap stalls, where you are able to exchange, or take a book for a small donation. All proceeds raised will go towards World Book Day to ensure every child has a book of their own.

Don't forget to check out our fantastic LRC and see what amazing resources we have on offer, but also those we can access for you.
